We, at St. Mary Parish in Arlington, MN, had the good fortune and very positive experience of working with Al Palmer as we incorporated into our modern worship area in the 1920s stained glass windows from a church in our diocese that closed a year ago. With Al’s dedication to this challenging endeavor it was an incredibly successful project of tastefully and appropriately blending the old windows with four newly commissioned modern windows depicting angels designed by Stanley Hildrith and expertly produced by Palmer Stained Glass, Inc.

If you want to consult or work with individuals who specialize in church stained glass windows, who listen and aim to please, who are knowledgeable and creative and craftsman, who stay in communication and meet deadlines, I highly recommend Al Palmer and his crew. They are honorable, respectful, cooperative and honest craftsmen who do top quality work and who stand behind their work. I will not hesitate to enlist their services again for any future stained glass window needs.

Sincerely yours,

Fr. Jerry Paulson
Pastor

Hi Al,

I just wanted to send a note to complement you on your excellent work at the Grace Church Chapel!  The windows (interior and exterior) are beautiful, and they complete the architectural concepts very nicely.  I know the church committee enjoyed and appreciated the process with your team.  Congratulations to you, Rick, and your entire team—it was a pleasure working with you on this project!

Dear Hans,

We have reached a successful conclusion of the repair and restoration project of the stained glass windows in The Memorial Chapel of the Good Shepherd at Shattuck-St. Mary’s school. I cannot allow this important moment to pass without taking time to acknowledge your key role in the success of this project and, especially, to thank you for guiding us to the selection of Al Palmer, of Palmer Stained Glass.

Al Palmer is a craftsman of the very highest order. In addition, he is a businessman with great integrity and an extraordinary sense of service to his customer. This entire project has been a delight and the end result is outstanding. Throughout the process, Al has taken time to patiently describe the reasons for the work and the intricacies of the techniques employed for SSMS staff and for donors and other alumni interested in the project. He has been exceptional in his accommodation of our schedule of use of the Chapel for special events, such as commencement, reunion, and alumni weddings. Al and his crew have been very respectful of this special space and meticulous in maintaining a tidy work area throughout the course of the project.

Most importantly, Al has done exactly what he said he would do, for the price quoted. He was also so kind as to paint the trim of the dormers while he had the hydraulic lift on campus for his own purpose. This was accomplished at no extra charge. When confronted with window frames plastered into place, he very willing proceeded to complete the restoration in loco rather than remove the windows to his workshop in Fridley, which would have been much easier and more convenient. In brief, Al Palmer does good work. I would, in future, recommend him highly and without equivocation.

Thank you, Hans, for your good advice and counsel in this project. These wonderful works of art are now preserved for the future inspiration and spiritual edification of many more generations of Shattuck-St. Mary’s students and faculty.

Sincerely,

Dear Al,

Words escape my wonderment over the stellar repair you accomplished on our very old windows. Not only was it a consummate achievement but also superlative craftsmanship. The repairs are indiscernible and the windows look brand new. It’s as if you stepped back in time, plucked them from the manufacturer, and transported them forward today. I no longer need to imagine how beautiful they were when new…I now see for myself.

One would never have imagined that your company and master artisan could have recreated an exact, hand-painted replica of the various pieces that were cracked beyond repair. I still marvel at your prowess and am most grateful to have discovered your company.

Not only did you preserve the original integrity of the windows, but went beyond expectation to ensure that I have some additional border panes for possible future needs and even templates to aid in the architectural design of our project.

Beyond this, thank you for your excellent personal and business ethic, which is beyond reproach. Admittedly, the day I watched all of my windows leave in your van my heart skipped a beat or two, and for anyone with doubts let me reassure them that from beginning to end you were a man of your word, even down to the promised delivery date.

Best regards,

Sharon Cannon

To Whom It May Concern:

This letter is to gladly recommend Al Palmer and Palmer Stained Glass, Inc. of Fridley, MN, for storm window fabrication and installation. In the summer of 2007, Al Palmer and his crew created and installed 24 thermal pane storm windows for our historic church to protect our beautiful stained glass windows. The windows were custom painted to perfectly match the trim on our historic building. Al’s fabricators even came up with a way for us to continue to use the small stained glass window vent for fresh air while having the protection of a storm window. In the fall of 2007 Al and his crew fabricated and installed an additional 24 new storm windows on the basement level of our church and they also created and installed storm windows over and along each side of the rectory front door. The craftsmanship done by Palmer Stained Glass was professional and done in the time frame promised. Their crew worked well with the other tradesmen onsite and their crew was respectful of our staff, parishioners and Mass schedule. If you have any further questions about this recommendation, please call me at 612-379-2259.

Sincerely,

Rosanne Hull
